Guten Tag! Ich bin ein LARPer aus Polen. Ich will in english schreiben weil mein deustch sehr schlecht ist.
Good morning! I'm a LARPer from Poland. I will write in englisch because my german is very bad. I want to make contacts with German LARPers. I live in Wroclaw (Breslau in german) near polish - german border. Berlin is closer to our city than Warsaw - capital of our country We have LARP organistaion in our city called Wielosfer (many spheres in english)We cooperate with Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. Most recently I participated in LARPVeekend in Brno in Czech Republic.
I have created many LARPs and I'm interested in developing of this genre. I think international LARP cooperation is a succesfull way of promoting LARPs.
Personally I'm interested the most in non - game based LARPs, for example Scnadinavian chamber LARPs. But still I've created many RPG based LARPs.
If you are interested in some way of cooperation with polish association, please write I've also have a Face Book account if you prefer such way of communications. You can find my account by using my email adress "kubatabisz@gmail.com"
Thanks/Danke
und Viel Gluck

Dragan, you might want to consider a private message for rather private conversations.

Dragan, vielleicht solltest Du für eher private Konversationen, die PM Funktion nutzen.

Wielosfer is association of LARPes, RPG players, fans of literature and theater. We organise a small festival in our city every year. Every mont there is at least one LARP organised by us. We cooperate with universities, culture institutions and other associations in our city. Wielosfer exists since 2004.
I'm responsible for LARPs in my assosiaction, and I'm also the main coordinator of our festival and one of the main guys behind literature meetings. I like writing

Here a translation of Dragans posting:
"Greetings to you Fingrin,
Your intention to built up a german-polish friendship is very pleasant to me.
It´s not my right to speak in the name of all but it is to speak for me ans those who, in my knowledge, are interestet to visit polish LARPs.
I´m from berlin but have contact to Warschau because my parents are living there. I would like to know more about your group Wielosfer.
Greetings and eventually a meeting at a LARP
Dragan"
Just one hint from me for the future:
It is quite more politely to write in languages that, at least, everyone can understand with having visited a normal school.
And sorry for my mistakes in grammar.

Eh, no. You misunderstood me. I won't be able to participate on your LARPs very soon. So if you want to talk with me, please do it online. Then probably we can arrange something together - a meeting, LARP, anything. But I don't live in Berlin I live in Wroclaw.
Thank you for info about Mittelpunkt.
And still, do you want to make contacts with us, or no? I'm waiting for some conversations. You can ask me antyhing you want.
Best regards
Fin

The Berlin larp scene seems to outsiders like a close-knit community, although there are many different styles. Most don`t leave the area of Berlin for Larp. Others, like, often go to events in western germany. I`d be happy to discuss the differences and similarities between german and polish larp. As an additional address, www.larper.de might be useful as an forum for germany.
Best wishes
Gregor

Kansas? Is it near Berlin? So let's talk. What do you do in Berlin? What LARPs? How many of LARPers are here? What is most popular? Where do you play? How do you play? How long? How many players?

Zitat Original geschrieben von Fingrin
What do you do in Berlin? |
Mostly, Fantasy Larp. the Vampire Larp scene in Berlin is also not to be underestimated. Some groups are more medieval orientated, others more fantasy-orientated. And most are anything goes. Some people meet quite reularly to improve theier equipment.
Berlin and the surrounding area has one major setback: There are almost no good locations available within 1-2 hours. Gorgast is often used, some woods are used. but there are no castles or similar locations, so most events are generic adventures, with some taverns in between. Additionally, there are Vampire Larp Events and, very rare, events for cthulhu.
Zitat How many of LARPers are here? |
I thing, about 600-700 in the max.
Zitat What is most popular? [/quote |
Depends, on who you ask.
mostly western germany from Münster down to Cologne
Low-Power, low-Fantasy to Mid-Fantasy, I want to see, whats happening.
Zitat How long?] usually, Events ar 3-4 days long, Thursday to Sunday
[quote]How many players? |
40-80 active PCs, plus 20-45 NPCs is a good guess.

A nice chance for having an international LARP event is "Fort Gorgast" on the German side of
Kostrzyn / Küstrin. This place seems to be often used by LARP Organisations.
Greetings

Hello!
I think it's very fascinating to see how larp is in other countrys. Unfortunatly I don't live in Berlin, but in Western Germany, so Poland is a little to far for me. But I am interested to hear about Polish larp.
Have you plots/storys which are played over some conventions (perhaps with one smaller story for each event) or is there an own plot for every event?
For German larp it is typical to create a character which is played on many different events with different backgrounds (mostly: different countrys in one world, but this world is not defined, so nobody knows all the countrys on this fictive world). In russia there is (mostly) a different setting for each event and most of the player create a new character for every event (this is what I heard from a russian larper, I've never been in Russia). What is common in Poland?
Do you use foam weapons? Or [also?] wooden or steel weapons?
greetings,
Annkathrin (whose grandmother was from Wroclaw, by the way, but that was in Wroclaw's German time so unfortunatly she cannot speak Polish)
